Tattoo Artist on work
It may sound pretty out-of-box but tattoo industry is getting ready to welcome the state intervention in many parts of the world. The intervention is being regarded as a pleasant move as government gets ready ready to tighten the screws on the amateur tattoo studios which ignore the hygiene standards. In what may be called the first wave of such interventions,Florida gets ready to witness the government dictating terms in areas that will include hygiene standards, criminal penalties, mandatory testing and the professional licensing.
Tattoo industry which has been marred with a number of unscrupulous practioners known as ‘scratchers’ seems delighted at the prospect of getting a powerful big brother which will ensure that such defaming elements are kept at bay. The growing demand for tattoos has promoted the growth of tattoo parlors like a wild fire. The result is that many enthusiastic but uneducated people fall in trap of these ‘scratchers’ who for the sheer interest of money fondle with the hygiene standards.
The strict regulation by the government will ensure that the mushrooming of such low class tattoo shops will be put to an end. The reason why many people rush to these shops is because of the cheap price on offering. But most of them ignore the fact that these shops blatantly ignore the hygiene standards.
The government officials are of the view that the role of ‘big-brother’ is something which is the demand of the hour. With most of the reputed tattoo parlors wanting a level playing field, the decision to intervene was always on cards. One can now expect a greater transparency in the hygiene standards of the tattoo shops. With a set of new regulatory laws intended to encompass greater hygiene concerns, the government plans to end the hygiene issue associated with tattoo industry once and forever.
